Of course Im delighted its on free TV!

Ive already repeated that on this thread. Growing the sport in the world biggest sports consuming country is obviously a good thing for the sport.

    You didnt answer my question!:lol::lol:

    You're English arent you?

Nothing to be ashamed of, I live in London now too.

You gotta admire his ambition. I wasn't even expecting 10% of all that's been announced in the past 2 months. But he needs to play nice and work with others, if he does the UFC style monopoly to the core then it will jump the shark.

What does "more irish" even mean??

Its like you're admitting you're English, just that you're MORE Irish than me.

    Are you from England?
Its a yes or no question.

Me,Im from Limerick. I can tell you all about the place and can prove it if it meant that much to you.

I dont have to make cryptic "im more Irish than you" comments, as Im actually from Ireland and am not afraid to admit it.

    orly? :nut

The Haymon fights so far are solid for the most part. Stevenson aside.

This is huge for boxing, overnight it will be everywhere. It won't be as popular as it once was but very few things are in todays world. The true measure of success will be if Haymon can pull off his financial risk with TV contracts down the line. Boxing provides cheap, live sport programming which is becoming the most important thing for TV.

Im not the one who says English terms like "mate" talks about spending pounds instead of Euros(despite claiming to live in Ireland) and who doesnt know the difference between football and soccer.

And I also know nthe difference between football and soccer.

I thought you said I lived in America? Maybe you're the one thats confused.

Make your trolling consistent at least

That's silly. What you don't get CBS, NBC, BET or Spike either? That just goes to prove that suddenly boxing is accessible in the biggest and most important market (which also bleeds into Canada). NBC Sport stuff was shown on Sportsnet. TSN might show ESPN cards.

Oh, I'm certain Japanese fight fans will find a way to view Haymon shows, if they really want to. :D

In the interim, they'll content themselves with watching boxing shows featuring the likes of Yamanaka, Inoue, etc, which are shown on free TV, and which generally attract quite a few viewers.

I don't think anyone is expecting this deal to make it mainstream. It at least makes it visible in the sports landscape. If the NBC shows can get 3+ million viewers it will be a success.

They still do, but I will agree with Barcham that TSN's coverage of boxing has been lack-luster in the past few years.

It's always been halfassed. They did show the Wilder fight, and you would think they would with all their new channels but I read that they preempted some UFC undercards for nascar and curling. That's how it was back in the day with their 'live' HBO shows. :patsch

It will be interesting to see Stevenson live for once, i'm assuming that they can't balckout CBS?

What are you talking about? It's the opposite of what you just said. The whole thing is designed to keep Haymon's fighters away from the real champions on HBO and Showtime. This is Al Haymon's fighter protection and relocation racket. He used to move fighters from HBO to Showtime to avoid fights. Now that both networks have had enough of his shell game, he's moving them to entirely new networks. This is a transparent attempt to keep the best from fighting the best, and a continuation of Haymon's earlier policies.

There is no way they can get near to 10 million, only if Canelo or Chavez fight on network TV.

The UFC gets 2-3 million viewers on big Fox. I would be pleasantly surprised if the first NBC show can average 4 million.

The few NBC and one CBS cards did ok in the afternoon with no hype on the networks in the last few years.

You don't watch American network television.

    You don't watch U.S. sports.

You don't live in the U.S.

You've never paid to watch boxing.

Yet you fancy yourself an expert on U.S. television and boxing because you watch "Big Bang Theory" once in a while and you read a couple Wiki pages in the last two days?

This guy is just a troll.

    Done with you.:hi:
