The UFC for examples draws less than CSI or whatever they are running against, but that's ok because they draw a better audience demographic for advertisers. I'm not sure how that will workout with boxing. I think they are safe at 3 million. Live sports are in demand, and relatively cheap. Even Fox paying the UFC $100 million is not bad for all that programming.
The first day you said he wouldn't crack a milliion. Then you said triple the average HBO show. Yesterday it was 12 million. Now it's 5 million because you clicked on a site. You don't know what you're talking about. Go watch curling. Bye.
Stevenson draws decent numbers to the Bell Center, though. In general, cards in Montreal are pretty well attended. So, while the sport isn't as popular as it once was, it still retains enough of a niche audience to ensure that the events that it does hold will be well atttended. Plus, internationally, it still holds a lot of attention. Personally, I'm cool with boxing being the soccer to MMA's american football, in terms of how it's popularity is perceived in North America.
Can't really say that because there hasn't been boxing on network TV. Chances are, the ratings will be respectable- and if that's the case, then stateside interest in the sport will grow to a point where the sport can no longer be labelled to be in its death throes... ....Not that it ever was.
