What Haymon is doing is clearly good for the sport overall. Boxing is getting back to network television on multiple channel positions, there is nothing I can criticize about that. It is clear that he is creating a monopoly however, the jury is out as to what the outcome of this power grab will be. Will there be some cannon fodder fights, absolutely. Will there ultimately be some good fights, likely.

 

Canelo vs Kirkland is decent. Floyd vs Manny is great. Kovalev vs Pascal is decent. Garcia vs Peterson is decent. GGG vs Murray is decent. Thurman vs Guerrero is decent.

Great match ups are few and far between. So, I will gladly take decent until great comes along. Not to mention, there will so many more viewing options.

 

If I had a HOF vote, I'd cast it for Buboy, or Brian (Cotto's buddy), or Pop's (Ann Wolf's assistant trainer - not to be confused with Broner's "Pop's", though his crucial role as his son's hair groomer is underrated), and definitely for the Harris brothers. Hell, they'd all get in if I were the HMIC.
