Guy broke his hand in three consecutive fights. Welcome to Jones world, Calzaghe.

Then for good measure he smashed his hand again a few years later.

Any other fighters have such brittle hands?

Al Jones nearly fought Ali in South Africa, if my memory serves me correctly. It'd be interesting to see how a post-Frazier Ali would deal with a tall, skilled southpaw. My pick would be Ali by hard-earnt decision.

It's interesting that the two boxers I think of when I think "hand injury" are Al Jones and Calzaghe, both southpaws. I suppose southpaws learn even less hand-friendly technique than most big-gloves/hand wraps era boxers, and thus tend to slap a bit more. If Calzaghe was fighting 100 years ago, he'd have to improve his technique and reduce his workrate, or he wouldn't get past 10 fights.
