Evening everyone, heads up on a podcast Peter Fury is doing this week which a lot of you will probably be aware of, anyway just a bit of an insight into one of the guests Al stevens. The older generation of us Birmingham and Black Country lads will know or heard of Al from his boxing days and running the doors in Birmingham, also from his days running the Cauliflower ear pub and boxing gym in Digbeth these events encompass three decades . Al has this week had a book published "EVAN HARDY" loosely based around bare knuckle boxing and the underworld in Victorian times however there is a lot more to it than that. He is working on a succession of three more novels based on the character EVAN HARDY. Just a quick insight in to the Cauliflower ear pub and gym and some of the people who frequented there. UB40 were big supporters , Nigel Benn, Frank Bruno and many more well known boxers and celebs were regulars there and Leon spinks worked behind the bar one night to help Al out. Peter fury's podcast will be well worth a listen to and Als book "EVAN HARDY" is an enjoyable read for anyone interested. Thanks and all the best to everyone.
