I'd take Minter here. Watson has become overrated on this board.

Damn Ron, wouldn't really call him overrated.

Minter had a good amount of stamina and was always game so i start to lean towards him, then i womder if Watson would fight the same way he did v Benn and start tagging Minter in the second half and maybe pull it out in the homestretch.

    If he is sober...

As for the fight, providing his eyes hold up, Minter was a level above Watson. Minter W12/15.

Minter's southpaw style causes Watson problems, and carries him through to a close points verdict.

Watson would win, both are good technicians but Watson was quicker, bigger and stronger.

I just think Watson was better on the way up when he was mainly a counter puncher. He showed that in his wins against Benn and Don Lee.
For the MaCallum fight and afterwards they got him to change his style with a more go forward and aggressive approach and I just don't think he was as effective fighting that way.
Don't get me wrong I liked Michael he was a good fighter and as brave as they come,I just think he's become a tad overrated on here.

His performances in the 2 Eubank fights and Benn fight were arguably better than any of Minters performances

I have to agree with this quote from powerpuncher, im a fan of minter and he was a great technical boxer, but i just think watsons technically on par with minter but hits alot harder. the only thing that may cause watson problems is the southpaw stance.

great fight though and would be very technical

Possible, but almost certainly due to cuts.

With Alan you usually have to begin "Barring Cuts.." one should also add perhaps Barring Temperment...which did get him into trouble sometimes..often leading to the cuts...i think Mike was at his best if he had someone pressing him and to whom he could Counter...I think if Minter fights make that BOXES like he can say, second Tonna fight ( Not first,) then i think he could keep a half step ahead of Mike on the scorecards..Mike's not wild enough to Knock Alan off Kilter...Mike's smooth approach probably lends itself a predictability for Alan, Funny thing where Alan could of done with a bit more Aggression against Hamsho a Muted Alan lost...but through styles..i think this Alan could outpoint Mike. Alan had a good Chin..Good Jab..Good Stamina and Good Mobility...if he utilises them correctly he can be the one saying "Elementary...My Dear Watson.."
