In a world where Marvelous Marvin never existed..Minter beats Hamsho instead on points in London...he beats Davison,Obel ,Scypion Lee and Fletcher..than in a world where he"s still motivated and isnt scarred by the Hagler annihilation ...he outpoints Sibson in a v hard fight....up steps a motivated Duran in late 83....what happens ?

Well if Minter s being champ a while, a little Faded maybe, then the evergreen Duran possibly rips the title from him.
Duran s confidence grows as Minter s energy levels drop.
Body shots, some lower than others beat the fight out of Alan and he's finally dropped in the 10 th round.
And the winner and new middleweight champion of the world... ROBERTO DURAN...

Duran TKO 5 in a good but one-sided scrap. That it goes 5 is certainly generous.

If he is still champ with all them defences to his name, he clearly has developed as a fighter a lot further than he did.

At that level he would be too much for 1983 Duran.

Although Roberto Manos De Piedra Duran is a very cagey veteran moving up against the likes of Alan Minter, I like his chances in this very interesting match. Minter with his lateral movement would give Duran some trouble early while throwing his right jab. But by round 6, Roberto's intense pressure would begin to make a difference. Duran would open a deep gash over Minter's eyebrow, forcing the referee to call a halt to the bout. Duran is no Vito Antuofermo in this one.

I think Minter will last longer than some expect but he'll go late ,,about the 12th or 13th

Duran was far more skilled than Minter and would have out-boxed him.

Minters kryptonite was his skin.He lost so many fights he was v competitive in due to his cutting easily and his performance level than dipping as a result eg the fight with Olympic Gold medalist Ronnie Harris.

Personally I think based on his 3 wins over Finnegan (who beat Sibson in 1980 quite handily),his wins over Sugar Ray Seales,Emile Griffith, Antuofermo and GratienTonna....and the fact I thought he beat Hamsho who was a cut above the level of guys like ,Scypion,Fletcher, and Obel, and Lee....i think Minter does get through to the end of 1982 still champ.

I think the Sibson fight would be his hardest....as champ his confidence would have grown...but this fight would take something out of him if he managed to get past it....yes he got knocked out in 3...but I do think he wasnt on his game...a big if i know.....Duran i think mauls him regardless to a stoppage on cuts within 8.
