Shocking news mate. Only 68 too.

Heartfelt commiserations to his son Al Francis, a regular poster on the Classic Forum.

Whilst balding, inbred Queenslanders run around calling Mundine Mr4time, the likes of Alan Rudkin remain the spice of boxing.

This guy battled from childhood to centre ring. Fighting the worlds best; forcing the worlds best to dig deep and show their worth as champions.

Tributes from Aussie ESB members is a must.

Al Francis lost his dad yesterday morning. The British fans lost an idol. Australia lost 50% of the epic Rudkin/Rose encounter of 1969 that remains the biggest night in Australian boxing history.

There is a squillion words to say. Say your own respects.

    RIP ALAN RUDKIN.

Josey, his mum took the bus rides from Liverpool to escape the air raids in '41. He's a scouse through and through, but Nth Wales.. St Asaph is the place of birth...

P.S... There's no way I'd doubt Reg either.

By the way, dad was indeed born in St Asaph, North Wales. My nan was evacuated there during the war.
