where in hell is fair and respectfull boring???
in some parts of the states maybe, but i watch rather a respectfull, well spoken fighter, then a stupid as bread, trash talking no hoper, who talks big and can't fight. go and watch the ufc, thats for you:deal

Nope we need more guys like Kevin Johnson and Haye, who talk sh*t leading up to a fight and then don't perform or pull out! That's what boxing needs :bbb

being fair and respectful is not automatically boring. But having absolutely no charisma is. Evander Holyfield was always fair and respectful (at least outside the ring), but he still had a great personality.

Oh well, I wish Sosnowski good luck. He doesn't deserve a title-shot, but Arreola and Kevin Johnson didn't deserve one either. Having had to watch these two awful fights already, I can absolutely not be assed to watch Vitali-Sosnowski now, even when I can watch it for free...

yeah you are right, but a lot of guys here think that
    charisma=trash talking
thats the problem, imo sosnowski don't deserve a shot at the title, but i bet he will give his whole heart in this fight and we will see a nice ko by vitali. thats enough for me to be entertained

Evander had about the most average and downright boring personality one could imagine. A likable guy, a guy you'd go out have a beer with and then have some BBQ and watch a football game on Sunday afternoon with.

One thing he had though was a quality that showed inside the ring: A burning passion for the sport. He was willing to get in the ring with anyone, at any time. Ever heard Evander bring up an excuse why he can't fight due to family or whatever ridiculous reasons or how some deal is too hard to make? Never.

Many of today's boxers aren't lacking personality, they are lacking passion for the sport IMO. Too much empty trash talking that gets fans excited only to be let down by fights not materializing (and both parties blaming each other) or terrible snooze-fests inside the ring.

Note that I intentionally left out the usual suspects by not naming any names, because I think it's a general problem, not just a single fighter. This lack of passion disease runs through the divisions.

He's 45-2. He may not be Championship level, but he's definitely not a bum.

Who has he fought then, who has he beaten? He is a Euro Class fighter not world class. Vitali even toys with world class fighters these days, no way this guy should get a shot.

Sosnowski is Euro class? Peter, Johnson and Arreola were USA class. :patsch

Vitali was Euro class up till 2003, right?

Toney don't deserve a title-shot either. Few HWs really deserve one these days.

But imo Toney would have more chances to score an upset than Sosnowski. And Toney is shot.
At least Toney might have a small chance to go the distance and have some moments. Sosnowski will just get knocked out after 4-5 rounds, we all know that.

I do agree with your post.
Holyfield took on all comers, and win or lose, he always gave a 100% inside the ring and gave us exciting fights. He may just be a 'nice' guy outside the ring, but he is a real warrior inside. That's what made him popular. I remember his first fight with Quawi at CW - Quawi was a tough as nails beast at CW, and Holyfield was the underdog then. Holyfield had just 11 pro fights and never went beyond 8 rounds. He then had a 15 round war with Qawi and he toughed it out. This would just be unbelievable these days.
