This guy has a record of 42-1. He's won 22 straight fights and hasn't lost for seven years back when he was 21. He has a win on record over a guy who may have ended Corrie Sanders comeback by KO. Anyone ever seen this guy fight? I tried to find footage on youtube but to no avail.
I saw him fight once several years ago and was thoroghly underwhelmed. At one time, they were hyping him as 'The Next Golota', but he was nowhere near that level of talent. It's certainly possible that he's gotten better since that time, but I doubt he's transformed into a world beater.
He's making some progress and I like to watch his fights. His skills are not too bad, he tries to hit'em with a variety of punches. Having said that, there's a reason why he doesn't really step up in competition - it seems he doesn't have enough talent. Like I said though, he's okay to watch against the opposition he's fighting. It's not like they're total bums.
The dragon only has teeth when fighting bums. I suspect he stands very little chance against a top 15 ranked fighter. But you never know until you see.
Maybe he could fight Joe Mesi. Would be a nice step up for Joe since his comeback from a brain injury and would be the toughest opponent for Albert to date.
You guys think that its easy for fighters to choose whoever the **** they want and fight top competition. The reason that he doesnt fight top competition is simply because its very to get him top opponents. There was many times that he was stated to fight some decent comp and they pulled out at the last minute and he had to fight some bums as replacements.
Albert is always in good condition but is not a top level heavy. Last time out he fought Colin Kenna who is a good pro but he also got sparked by Michael Sprott so if Albert cant put him away then he doesn't have the power to compete at the top. Simple as.
I remember a few years ago he won something called the WBC youth title.. he looked awesome , he is still doing the european rounds.. he may amount to something..
Actually seven years ago he lost his only fight in an attempt at the youth title. In 2006 however he did win the WBF title. Maybe that's why he hasn't fought any top level guys.

I'm not making it up. It may have been an obscure reference dealing with the fact both are Polish, but I certainly recall having read a few such pieces on fightnews several years back.
I didn't realize someone made a thread about it already. I just happened to be looking at boxrec when I noticed that Corrie Sanders was KO'd recently. It was by a guy who Albert beat. Struck my curiousity. I could not find anything on youtube posted. BTW Corrie Sanders is way overrated. He lost to Nate Tubbs who previous lost to 25-12 Eddie Gonzalez. A fat fighter who 42 year old Larry Holmes was criticized for not stopping but shutting out. Up to that fight in Tubbs career Sanders was only the third guy he fought with a winning record. The first one had a 1-0 record.
Must have been by someone who didnt do there research. The only thing they have in common is that there both Polish and HW's. Very hard for any Polish heavy to live up to what Golota was capable of(pure talent wise).
