On the undercard of John Murray vs Andrei Kudriavtsev for the European (EBU) lightweight title. He probably wants to make sure his first fight since his onesided KO loss to Vitali ends in a win because he's fighting Paul Butlin (12-11, 3KO's with 6 losses in a row), hardly a world beater. I guess the main event on this will be one of a lot better quality, with Murray looking for his 30th straight victory.
So Sosnowski is padding his record some more. I thought he actually over achieved a bit when he got the EBU belt. Still, in the Vitali fight, he did better than most expected (survived most of the fight and made Vitali miss an awful lot in the first half). Im pretty positive that he`ll never be a top 10 contender though.
Sosnowksi is kind of decent overall but lacks 'that something' that would make him a true top tier IMO. So he should probably stick to European titles although I would like to see him fight the likes of Povetkin or Boytsov. He isn't truly checked vs today's contenders. Vitali owns them all in the same fashion anyway..
He has to earn that first and fighting guys with losing records will not serve him well. Still, I think guys like Boytsov, Povetkin and others will eventually fight him as a safe fight. The best thing about Sosnowski is that he`s busy during a fight, even with Vitali he was landing half decent punches and did not look passive like Vit`s other opponents.
Sounds just like Chris Arreola. When I watch CA fight I always feel like he lacks that hunger to win. I think the reason guys like CA and AS keep on stepping backwards after hard losses is because they don't want to become gatekeepers like Monte Barret and Robert Hawkins became. Those gatekeepers though are the toughest guys out there because they take on all comers seems like.
Sosnowski is a far better heavyweight than many give him credit for.. He very durable and steps it up when he moves up in class.. He fell short against Klitschko , but not many survive against the champ... He is a very top class performer if he is allowed to be.. God Bless.. (Butlin is only good opposition for his rehabilitation.. )
If the top guys in the division are "padding" quality fighters then I don't see what he's doing wrong here. With how the division is, as long as he's active he's doing good.
