Alberto Davila - how good was he?

    Around 77-78 Albert lived just a few blocks from me, he was delivering beer for a Budweiser distributor at the time. As often as I could I would try to be on his block when he got home from work. Little Red was my Jesus in those days, but Albert Davila was another that I really looked up to.

    Bump.
    Hoping that there's more footage of Davila's fights floating around. I'd really like to see his fights with Pintor 1 and Sandoval.

    Awesome skills wise. Definitely one to study. Any shorter boxer should watch him.

    Agreed, very nice, clean style that's good to study. Davila also had a good jab as well, really used it well given his small stature. One could imagine if Davila had better punching power and better physicality to go along with his skill set.

    Bump. Still hoping that someone has more footage of Davila's other fights . It seems like the majority of his fights on YT now are his losing performances against Pintor 2, Gomez, Zarate, Lora 1 and 2, Duarate 2....

    His only winning fights that are available are with Kiko Bejines (a tragic fight that caused Kiko's death) and Enrique Sanchez (an interesting scrap that took place during a downpour).
