This fight is really reminding me of Paez vs Grove I.

    Alejandro Bokser 94-90
    Jorge Luciano Gorini 92-91
    Jesuan Letizia 92-91

    UD for Alberto Ezequiel Melián

At least two of the judges got it right.

However.... Bond Villain Judge Alejandro Bokser handed in a card as phony sounding as his name.

no matter how hard i try, i just cant root for melian, he is an incredibly dirty fighter to the point you can say the headbutt is his signature punch. at least he has a guard now, i remember back in his amateur days and early pros he would try to emulate maravilla, thats how akmadaliev ktfo in the olympics. i think this is his ceiling though, win some and lose some against continental level fighters.

Yeah, I wrote him off a while back. I picked Saya to beat him by KO here, until I switched late, figuring Melian will probably survive a knockdown or two and Saya he'd probably gas late from not going the distance very often. I had no idea how right I'd be.

I was surprised, that Saya was that good. His record looked like Melians team was looking for an easy opponent with undefeated record. But he looked really good in the first 5 rounds.

I had more the impression, that Saya was the dirty fighter. A lot of holding, when he got tired.

Saya was the promoters fighter, it was a gardner payne card, the first event he had in argentina. Of course the judges didnt care a bit about this and favoured the argentinians.

yeah saya was just exhausted in the second half of the fight, but in the first half melian landed a ton of headbutts and would constantly pull saya down in order to tire him more, mind that he does this same thing in all of his fights.

Okay, thats interesting. I thought this was a tune up fight for Melian which did not turn out as easy as expected.
