The WBC site makes me c all the time.

I missed a few rounds of Goofy Montes vs. Ceviche Ibarra last week, still quite pissed about it.

 

Round 4

Briones is throwing wide left hooks coming forward, bobbing and rolling his long body sinuously. Briones is giving up his height, just marching forward and staying low. Briones is working the body, going low quite a bit by accident. Carreon is getting mad about it, and actually turns his back to Briones to march up to the ropes. Briones comes swooping in low at him attacking the body some more, as the ref is not brooking any whining from Carreon and isn't ruling any of Briones' shots low.

Yeah, I missed all of rounds 8-11 plus the end of the 7th and start of the 12th. :twisted:

Round 5

Carreon pushes out his jab and then leans in against Briones. Wide hooks by Briones from outside, still preferring to dip and roll and keepi his center of gravity low rather than standing up tall and straight to employ his height advantage. They jab together and slam foreheads. Briones turns his back to Carreon now, palming his head and groaning. Carreon sticks a few jabs and moves to his left. Carreon brushes Briones' hair with a 1-2 while floating to his left, then stopping on a dime and going right, and back to the left with a trail of jabs. Briones loads up on a big overhand right from across the ring and falls in. Carreon ducks down and accidentally headbutts Briones in the balls. Briones grimaces and slaps down with a rabbit punch.

Round 6

Carreon is jabbing and hooking at Briones' arms while moving around him in a wide arc. Briones is ducking and hang-gliding inside, throwing wild upward shots and missing. Briones is coming dangerously close to brushing his gloves against the canvas with his arms dipped down as he comes swooping in, risking "knocking himself down" as the ref would be within discretionary authority to apply a standing eight count and make that a 10-8 round for Carreon. It's mostly just Carreon scoring with the jab on the go.

Round 7

Headbutt, mutual accident - both men complaining. Jab to the body by Carreon. Clinch. Briones gets both his long arms wrapped around Carreon's throat and has to be disentangled by the ref. Another sloppy rat's nest clinch after Carreon jabs his way in again. Carreon chooses to stick on the outside now, drifting left and jabbing. Briones cuts off his route, and they tangle again. Briefly. Ref calls a break. Lead right by Carreon, clubbing The Magician by the nape of his neck. BIG KNOCKDOWN BY CARREON, A NOSE-CRUNCHING STRAIGHT RIGHT!!! Briones sits with his back against the bottom rope and stares up at the ref, shaking his head!!!


NOCAUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Broner wouldn't have made it out of the third against Carreon. :bart

Good TV fighter. Might not ever pick up anything more than a joke belt, but he's fun to watch.
