Rewind to just after his TKO loss to Jo-Jo Diaz - he was 17-4-2 professionally, who the hell could have predicted that within 2½ years Cancio would be a world champ?

how can I not be mad? There's nothing more nauseating than a Monday morning quarterback trying to act like a genius, when the a side gets KOd, when he didn't predict the upset, nor did anyone else. Machado losing doesn't bother me, his quoting of my post does.

I'll be honest; even if somebody had picked Cancio to score an upset KO, it probably wouldn't have been for the right sort of reasons. I was thinking before the match started that some people inclined to lazy BoxRec research (but not actually watching footage) might just see that he officially holds a "KO" win over Rene Alvarado, not realizing it was in fact on cuts and just assume that he iced him and therefore must have serious power. I mean, notwithstanding that result he does have pop and that was known before tonight, but I doubt anybody would have made an intelligent & informed pick for him to knock out Machado with too much confidence.

I knew it. I could sense the "god damn I just got raped on a 1-15 favorite" tone in your post. Serious question. Whats the point of even making that sort of bet? 15 to win 1? Why? Even if you parlay it barely moves the odds at all. The house loves people that lay this much juice.

I've probably scored Andrew's last eight or nine fights on here, the idea that he would win tonight never crossed my mind. You're spot on.

I didn't bet a dime on the odds-on favorite Machado that would have paid me literally nothing you idiot.. It would have been a huge waste of money you ****ing casual. Did you even know who Machado was before you jumped on this thread? The way you're acting, I highly doubt it. You're just trying to score some cheap points, nothing more.

Would it be fair to say that Vargas is among the top 5 Mexican boxers active today? Along with Alvarez, Estrada,Berchelt, Nery, and Ramirez

To be fair, he had turned in some nice performances since his return, and was a lot more durable than Yuandale Evans or Jezreel Corrales. Given that Carlos Morales had given Machado fits just before Flaco won a title, it seems feasible that Cancio would likely make things interesting and give Machado a tougher evening than expected. I personally figured that meant that he'd take Macado the distance and lose a close one...But Cancio one-upped my expectation and won the damned thing.

Props to Chango for doing so.

For the record, I didn't ban this fool. He went and violated the word filter... so someone got him first. Oh well, boohoo so sad.

Wow, Jesse Vargas is not quite as terrible as Ray Leonard at commentary but he's pretty ****ing bad. What is it with DAZN hiring these **** commentators, every team they have makes ESPN & Showtime crews sound like the best to ever do it. I wonder what it would be like to be the guy that has to work along side someone who sucks as much as Jesse Vargas does. Holy **** 3/4 hours of that would be brutal.

My boy Alexis Arguello could take it to the body for days, and his nickname was literally "The Explosive Thin-man"
