You think it's as simple as that? I usually don't buy into the idea of one hard night "ruining" a guy...but...this is as compelling evidence as you'll find...

    Round 8

Acosta is throwing without mercy, putting everything into left hooks and overhand rights coming forward. Abril is a bit stunned by one combo. Acosta is caught coming in too confidently though, and is sent back to the ropes by a counter from Abril. Acosta moves in on him and waves a jab in his face, looking to back him to the ropes and club him with a right hand over the top. Leaping left hook by Acosta. Abril turns him and lands a punch just before Acosta goes down, but it's ruled a slip. Whipping body shots by Acosta. Hard left and right missile launch by Abril from a few paces off. Acosta chases him back with the backhand jab. Tie up. Acosta chases him with hooks.

    10-9 Acosta

    77-74 Abril

It's looking that way TBH. I think it CAN happen (Calzaghe v Lacy is the best example you'll ever find though)

In the time I watched this, Acosta already had more "slips" as Haye in his entire last fight

    Round 9

Acosta hammers with a jab/hook hybrid coming forward. Abril backs up until ensnaring Acosta with an arm around his neck. They lash out at each other from mid range, Abril throwing jabs and overhand rights and Acosta working the left hook. Acosta is on the canvas for the 7th or 8th time tonight, but Abril threw him. Ref correctly says no knockdown. Left hook to the body by Acosta. Clinch. Ugly as hell. Right hand by Abril. Jab by Acosta, and the right hand is ducked with only partial contact. Abril slips a jab and lands his own, then chases Acosta to the ropes with a right hand. ACOSTA IS DOWN YET AGAIN, but not from a knockdown. Another damn slip. The ring surface isn't even wet. The kid just can't keep his feet under him. Acosta throws a wild right. Abril tries to hold him off with a jab up from the hip.

    10-9 Acosta

    86-84 Abril

    Round 10

Another damn slip, and Acosta is throwing a bit of a temper tantrum. He says he was pushed down by the back of the head.

Yeah, no. Replay shows a flush right hand, taken on the back of the head only because Acosta ducked so that was all that was available.

The ref gives him a million years to recover from the rabbit punch that was his own fault (and for which his opponent should have been awarded a knockdown). Acosta is not only sucking, he is being a *****.

They resume and Acosta is down AGAIN. No controversy this time, or at least none the referee wants to hear. He sends Abril to a neutral corner and then applies a count, to Acosta's mild surprise. Acosta beats it and starts to run around, flicking his jab up. Abril chases and hammers away with hard rights. Acosta lands a counter right to the jaw. BIG RIGHT HAND BY ABRIL!!!! KNOCKOUT!!??? NO! Acosta beats the count again! He was dropped hard there. Abril runs in and swings hard, a bit sloppy. Acosta fights with his back to the ropes and takes a hard overhand right across the face. He runs to the opposite ropes. Another overhand right for Abril. Acosta runs, runs, and runs. Abril is just walking up to him, stepping left and right to cut the ring off.

    10-7 Abril

    96-91 Abril

Damn. Acosta was becomingm my favorite fighter. I was hoping since he was older he wouldnt start declining too fast.

It sounds like he is though.

Anyways legally i can watch the Garcia fight??? Another guy who fights just to my liking.
