Alberto Mosquera vs. Brunet Zamora & Miguel Acosta vs. Richard Abril RBR

Acosta disappointed, but it's unfair to not also say that Abril really stepped up and was a bit of a revelation. :good

He didn't beat up as good a version of Acosta as the one Rios beat, but he still thoroughly beat up the same person and was probably a big underdog.

 

Round 1

Zamora jabs and circles right. Mosquera slaps out with both hands and casts a net over him. Right jabs by Mosquera. Zamora is backed across the ring. Flush right jab by Mosquera, and he spins Zamora around and hits him from behind. The ref wags a finger at him. Right jabs high and low by Mosquera, then darting out to let Zamora miss some left jabs. Again Zamora gets spun around like a top. Mosquera is playing with him, jabbing from outside.

Round 2

Mosquera comes forward, pecking with the right jab. Zamora ducks and covers, and works the right hand up high. Mosquera keeps backing him across the ring with right hooks to the body and straight lefts down the pipe. Zamora leans in against him. Body shots traded both ways. Mosquera hooks in at either side of his head. Zamora is willingly taking shots to get close and zap Mosquera with straight shots that just glance off the sides of his head. Hard right uppercut to the belly by Mosquera. Left uppercut to the chin now. Mosquera is working uppercuts with both hands while driving forward and pushing Zamora back, denying his attempts to lean in and engage in body punching melees. Double hook by Mosquera.

Round 3

Mosquera comes forward with right hooks to the face and left hands to the stomach (where Zamora's Italian flag trunks are hiked up a little too high). Mosquera is backed off momentarily by a right hand but he gets right back to business, coming forward with jabs and uppercuts and fending off Zamora's attempts to grab. Mosquera shoves him back to the ropes, using a little elbow. Zamora leans in and fires a left uppercut up close. Mosquera lands a looping left before a clinch. Right jabs by Mosquera, and Zamora tries to grab but gets spun 180 degrees again. Another clinch. Right hand by Zamora. Left uppercut inside by Mosquera. Good right hands by Zamora! Mosquera spins him to the ropes and gives him a whack on the head on the way! The ref is having to get in there every few seconds to keep it clean. They trade uppercuts toe to toe, Mosquera landing more.

Before it was girl fights and other random useless crap.

 

Round 4

Good slugging action!! Mosquera is working uppercuts, and Zamora is tossing short overhand rights into his face! Big uppercut by Zamora. Tie up. They spin in place together. Mosquera lands a left uppercut just as Zamora lands a right uppercut, both to the body. Looping left by Mosquera, tripled up and landing twice to the body and once to the head. Zamora is slapping down with lefts and rights, making Mosquera tilts back and roll his shoulders but still take some shots. Both men are arm weary but throwing as hard as they still can. HARD right hand by Zamora!! Clinch.

10-9 Zamora, big comeback round.

39-37 Mosquera
