Do you think that first knockdown was actually a legitimate body shot rather than clipping him like you initially typed? It wasn’t very clear to me at the time but he seemed to be very hurt by it continuing into the next round

Just like I said earlier - La Roca gives your money's worth, not much polish to him but he can whack (and doesn't get discouraged by whiffing, just plugs away round after round until he feels something make contact and then goes berserk once he smells blood in the water)

Quite possible. I think one thing is clear, he may be able to box & move like a cutie pie in sparring but Torres has clearly never tasted real power in the pros, as he folded like a lawn chair after having just one good round here (in which he barely got touched).

Pretty obvious Jr. didn't inherit Guapito's chin. (Edison Torres was stopped only 7 times in 80 bouts, mostly in the final stages of his career)

I’m not sure what his career has consisted of so far, but from what I’ve noticed from his countrymen, they face absolutely paltry competition coming up and don’t really have any preparation for any sort of power when they step up even a little bit lol.

Btw, when I say that Edison Torres fought a "few" decent names in his day... we're talking future IBF 115lb champ Félix Machado (3 defenses), former WBA flyweight & future WBA super fly champ Jesús Kiki Rojas, future WBA flyweight champs David Griman & José Bonilla, '92 Olympians Héctor Julio Avila and David Serradas, Mexican national light flyweight champ & multiple-time world title challenger Alejandro "Rude Boy" Montiel (elder brother of Kochulito), future WBA super fly champ Alimi Goitia, Colombian powerhouse Ilido Julio (the man Torres defeated to become IBO champ), former IBF light fly champ and longtime contender Mauricio Pastrana, former WBA light fly titlist Carlos Murillo, speedy Tanzanian southpaw contender Mbwana Matumla, future IBF super fly & bantam champ Luis Alberto Perez, future WBA flyweight champ Lorenzo Parra, former WBO super bantamweight champ Agapito Sanchez, former WBO bantamweight champ Mauricio Martinez, former European bantamweight champ Spend Abazi - and future UK luminaries Kiko Martinez (future IBF super bantam champ), Martin Lindsay (future BBBofC featherweight champ), and Kevin Mitchell (future Commonwealth champ and 4-time world title challenger) when all three were unbeaten and in the bloom of their primes.

His final mark was a respectable and still technically positive 42-34-4 (38) - and though he ultimately came by it honestly, it was perhaps even more padded at 11-0 when he suffered his first loss to Kiki Rojas than his son's was coming in tonight against de Gracia. So there's hope yet for Guapito Jr. to become at least a ~.500 journeyman who maybe hot-potatoes a belt...if he can learn not to crumble under a stiff breeze. :shakehead:
