Aleks Emelianenko recently gave his side of the story. Why did he say the fight was cancelled? Because he showed up for the medical commission a day late. He said he was supposed to show up on the 13th and he came to the US on 14th due to visa problems he was having earlier. That's the only reason for cancelling the fight. here is a link

Did they officially announce that he had Hep? I didn't see a link for that, just some rumors. Plus, medical records are usually private and i doubt that they would announce something like that to the public. I for one hope Alex is ok and we can watch him fight in the future.

These are modern times. They'll let out anything and they can't keep anything concealed even if they wanted to. Shiiit, I dunno if you remember but they did it to Akinwande 10 years ago. Formal announcement, "Hey, you! . . . You . . . and you over there, Henry Akinwande has HEPATITIS B. That's HEPATITIS B, ladies and gentlemen, that Mr. Akinwande has. Have I made myself clear? Alright then. Thank ya'll for coming out. God bless you, g'nite."

OK, but they never officially announced it? All I heard was "someone close to the commission said this". Sounds like a rumor. I dont know, wouldn't they test Alex in Canada, and he fought there just a few months back.
