6-0 "Tix-Tix" Reyes getting drawn into a brawl a little too frequently and not using his many physical advantages, but pitching a shutout nonetheless and likely to improve to 7-0.

Actually that might not be the listed Escorpión Negro that Reyes is fighting. De la Paz Teniente is a darker-skinned fellow, both going by his nickname and his thumbnail picture on BoxRec...

Ah, never mind. This is a different fight. One combatant just happens to have the name "Hector" printed on his trunks, but isn't Hector Reyes.

    This is:

Alan Salazar vs. Hector Garcia Dolores, 6 rounds @ bantamweight

    Entering the final round now.

Yeah seeing their size relative to both their corner people and the ref, no way these were middleweights.

Anyway, the main event is pretty interesting. The unbeaten Italian, based in Mexico and nicknamed "Straccò Rognoso" (or "Worn-Out & Mangy" in English...:dunno) is a champion in pro kickboxing, boasting a 49-3 (43) record in that sport, going a perfect 3-0 (3) in K1 in world title bouts at super lightweight. In amateur kickboxing he was 96-11 (54) putting him at nearly 150 victories with almost 100 by KO. He also graduated last year with honors with a degree in computer engineering. Despite all this demonstrable prowess in other fields, however, the one thing he really wants to do is make his bones in pro boxing, and rather than stagnate in his own home country and set his sights on perhaps a European title shot, has insisted on cutting his teeth in the rough-and-tumble proving ground of the Mexican small hall domestic scene, barnstorming on non-televised cards against tough journeymen and regional gatekeepers since his sophomore effort more than five years ago. He now stands at 19-0 (15) and is getting his first airtime, in his first main event, to give most fans a first glimpse of his abilities.

Puerta is a bit of a step up, having challenged for a world title (knocked out by then WBC 130lb king Takashi Miura in 6) and who enjoyed a nice run of form in 2011-2014. He's sturdy enough to hand around for a few rounds and heavy-handed enough to give us an honest assessment of Riguccini's whiskers.

Also, while I was typing out the above, the real Hector Reyes vs. Felipe de la Paz Teniente match began ...and ended just as quickly. Reyes KO1.

Co-feature about to start, with the longtime WBA strawweight female champ stepping up to light fly with a 1-5-1 pushover opponent.

Those are women in the ring. You can tell because they are wearing tops. Men usually don't.

If you mean in the RBR title, read the above. (post #7)

Yeah... I'm not watching but given the RBRS you usually do I was inclined to think they were men..

Nope. I saw the result on Twitter myself, a short while after Kovalev vs. Shabranskyy ended. That would've been my first choice for a nightcap RBR thread, but this will do since that wasn't, to my knowledge, televised anywhere (but even had it been, would've conflicted with HBO)
