hey guys, I don't believe this has been posted. Really cracking interview from Alex Ariza on his split between Khan. It really makes me angry with Team Khan. I've seen another video on Youtube with Roach confirming that, contrary to what Team Khan has said, Ariza is an independent contractor. **Ariza also confirms that he has a copy of the contract signed by Amir. Indicates it will go to court** [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZOtu66q3WI[/ame] Disappointed Amir isn't standing up to his family. He, Ariza and Roach were a dream team.
sounds like shady goings on there by team Khan...could be another Prince Naseem style management situation about to happen there, in the near future.
Interesting things that stuck out to me: - He's still training Roach's other key fighters (Pac, Chavez Jr) - Roach and fighter's themselves still with him & on independent contracts - Ariza has a copy of his contract with Amir - Alludes it may go to court - Ariza never once slagged Amir off - he genuinely likes the kid - I get the impression he and Amir haven't been able to speak directly (he wasn't even sure if Amir knew about him getting fired until it hit the media) Will be interesting to see how things pan out. My gut feeling is that Shady Shah and his little ****** Asif screwed Ariza over.
Ariza is no angel. In the week he broke up with Khan, he had another bust-up with within Team Pac. He's now apparently been dropped by Chavez Jr too. All this can't be a coincidence, can it?
this interview was done a week or so ago if i remember rightly so its possible chavez is not with him now
That's great. And the results show in the fights. The fighters are happy with it too. But I'm not talking about his work, I'm talking about his character. He seems to **** a lot of people off.
He has a big gob, and seems to have gotten too big for his boots. Still the bloke's done a job and deserves his pay.
Payment is not the problem. Khan's team have been giving him his money for the past 6 fights. Their issue with him is in regards to how he went about hassling Khan, on the night of the weigh-in, to sign contracts. It isn't Khan's job to worry about that stuff, it's his team's. They felt Ariza was in the wrong by not going through it with them.
Before all this broke interviews with Amir post Maidana he says that he was "over trained" for the fight and that mistakes were made in the build up so he is obviously in it with his family.
