ok so a lot has been said about this dude. Floyd doesn't stop talking about how Alex was the key to Pacquiao's success when he was on a tear between 09-11 but i wonder, where was Ariza's magic when pac lost to Bradley and JMM? You can see Alex in the corner for both fights so what happened? To me, Alex has been there for the highs and lows, which sorta tells little about him being such a f genius. It's all BS. Alex seems to be a talker and a problem maker so this is why he gets attention, whilst other strength and conditioning coaches go about their job in a more quiet manner. Alex sells himself but he isn't any better than let's say Manny's current strength and conditioner, Juston Fortune. Manny is undefeated with this guy so far.. So it's all nothing but BS, Floyd and others never seem to mention Alex was in pac's corner when he had his lows. He also seems to be a scumbag. Roach recently stated that the issue with Alex is that he was too intrusive - he wanted to be everything, from trainer (advising Manny on fights), to strength and conditioning coach to cut man and more. Freddie thought it was a problem and he had to go. Not too mention Freddie asked him about what he was giving Manny to drink and Alex refused to tell him. The dude seems to be a guy full of hot air who gets recognition mainly cause he talks so much. It's no different than doctors, some of the most famous doctors are actually some of the worst, they just know how to sell themselves and have charisma. HE is a fraud.
Alex Ariza's genius was shown when he had Pac walking backwards on a treadmill to prevent cramp in his calves. I'd love to know the scientific reasoning behind it. It reminded me of Ferris Bueller when he puts the car in reverse to get rid of the miles he put on that ferrari
If he were that good people wouldnt keep sacking him. He's only at the Mayweather gym for psyche warfare. He's a bad guy.
If you were paying attention then, you'd know that Pacquiao stopped doing a lot of Ariza's conditioning work. The only thing he did for Marquez IV was stretch Manny before workouts
It seemed like Freddie thought Ariza was overtraining Manny. Manny was getting cramps and looking sluggish in his last two fights with Ariza. He's looked better since. But that could also be Manny's motivation. Not sure.
i love it how the lack of KOs' is attributed to everything except opponents. Here's a better explanation of the KOs since 09 Diaz - slow **** fighter with weak defense, Manny bludgeoned him Hatton - slow and reckless, he ran into punches for 2 rounds! he would get KO'd by 36 year old maNNY TOO DLH - Manny didn't drop him, DLH simply couldn't see Manny's punches and got hit 1 thousand times, trainer decided to stop it. It would be no different had DLH faces 36 year old Manny Cotto - A relatively slow fighter who kept charging Manny, Manny would've likely KO'd him today Maragerito - A super naturally big WW, too big for Manny. Manny re-arranged his face but was cautious, always moving away from the big guy clottey - pretty much refused to fight for 12 rounds and just covered himself. JMM - got dropped but has a strong chin... Bradley - has never lost by KO and fought cautiously fight vs Manny Rios - iron chin, Manny still re-arranged his face Algieri - got dropped but ran like a girl for 12 rounds as holyfield states - Once fighters start KO'ing people, opponents start being more cautious.. This all much better explains the KOs; the Ariza theories are nothing but BS which Aria has fabricated because he's a master salesman, he talks and talks about what a genius he is. Remember, the ones that talk the most are the ones that know the least.
Loss of knockouts are all about the opponent's. Just look at them. It's obvious. And Mayweather needs to quit thinking Pac's "power is gone" since Ariza isn't with him anymore, because if he continues training and this fight with that thinking, then he'll be in for a rude awakening.
mayweather is too smart for that, it's just mind games. I think he mainly hired Ariza to mess with Manny's head. I also think he gets some comfort level from having someone who knows Manny's strengths well in his camp. I'm sure Floyd is getting any info he can on Manny from Ariza.
It definitely mind games. Ariza is doing nothing but holding towels and stretching him, I promise. Do you think Floyd will get more trash-talky the closer to the fight we get, or is he going to remain this strangely cordial.
Ariza was the one that was thrown under the bus when it all unraveled in Marquez' schooling of Pacquiao in fight 3, a fight Paquiao was expected to tear up JMM limb from limb. Before then Roach was the best trainer ever and Ariza was the best thing that could ever happen to Pacquiao. If anybody in that Pacquiao training camp was scum its been Freddie Roach. All kinds of excuses came after Marquez put a clinic on Pacquiao in fight 3. The number one excuse was Pacquiao having leg cramps. With that, Roach started to point the finger at Alex Ariza and that relationship went downhil pretty fast after that. The only member in Pacquiao's camp that has ever given Juan Manuel Marquez due credit is Alex Ariza, and Freddie Roach has never been able to accept that and so Alex Ariza was made the scapegoat. .......enter fight 4, without Alex Ariza being given free reign to condition Pacquiao for the fight. It was Freddie Roach taking it back to old school without Ariza's expertise and everything done in camp was on Roach's say so............ Result=Juan Manuel Marquez KTFO6 Manny Pacquiao! It was Alex Ariza's fault Freddie!!!nut:nut
first of all, JMM didn't school anyone, fight III was a close fight. Out of 100+ reporters, ****ysts who scored fight, JMM had around 57 scoring fight for him and Pac had around 51 scoring fight for him. Compare this with Bradley vs Pac where out of 50+ rung side observers, 50 had it for pac, 3 for Bradley. As you can see, Pac vs JMM III could've gone either way whereas the latter was really a robbery. The only people who call think JMM schooled Pac in fight 3 are either Mexican fan boys, Pac haters. The true neutral observers who actually know boxing, had that fight real close. and this nonsense that Ariza was doing nothing but stretching for Pac during a period when Pac struggled is BS... no-one pays and keeps a strength and conditioning coach 'just for stretching' LOL...
it's a bit strange but i think Floyd has matured and seems to just be happy about the payday. Pacquiao also makes it difficult for someone to trash talk him. I think Floyd is being extra careful about his image given the magnitude of this fight. I don't think he wants to rub fans the wrong way...
