No natural conditioning regimen in the world could have prevented Khan from wilting from those mean body shots Garcia landed. They allowed him to slow down Khan just enough so that he could land his money shot.

were there any knockdowns suffered by Khan or Pacquiao in any of those fights though? This thread's talking about punch resistance, not about winning and losing.

That hack is more educated and has achieved more than ariza ever would.

Tabares is a nice humble guy, never a bad word for anyone.

ariza was much better at keeping khan looking physiscally stronger. but i cant say the outcome would be different.

Tabares' job is to get him in shape and he was in shape. Tabares is not a boxing coach but fitness instructor.Just accept Khan is not good enough.Roach is to blame because Amir Khan has always been vulnerable to those type of shots in as much as he is vulnerable to uppercuts.Roach is not a complete trainer because his defensive technics are not great. His fighters get hit by clean shots and if you fight a banger then you will be destroyed.

I don't think it has anything to do with his chin but i thought Khan's overall speed and co ordination looked worse during this fight and throughout his whole camp

A weak chin will always be a weak chin. Sure Ariza and other top elite conditioning coaches can help in regards to stamina, but not chin. He needs how to learn how to box effectively. It was pathetic to see khan get beat by someone who had no movement whatsoever. He would have dance circles all day long around his opponent if he had the patience or the right mindset

Ariza is a scumbag... But look at the results Khan had with him there.... and look at those fights where he wasn't there

    Prescott - KO 1

McCloskey - looked slower than usual despite the win, wasn't tested as McCloskey wasn't punching back

Garcia - TKO4 - looked like he did when he was a lightweight in terms of shape physically.

Maidana - Looked Shaky in 10 - but did not hit the canvas despite a bombardment of hard wild shots from Maidana. This lasted for the better part of 2 rounds, yet he did not touch down.

Peterson (roided) - even though Khan wasn't at his best fighting in this - physically he took some great shots, even if Peterson isn't heavy handed, some of the pressure he withstood in this bout was amazing from Khan

It might just be coincidence or maybe another factor - but IMO, Khans new found durability in particular the Maidana and Peterson fights were due to training with Arizza. With Tabarez I just thought they worked on the wrong things for Khans body. He also looked to top heavy, just like when he was a lightweight for the prescott bout.

According to Arriza Khan was never down under him and S&C can improve chin he says.

If you have a **** chin...you have a **** chin and there isn't much you, Alex Ariza or anyone else can do to change it.

In the build up I felt Khan was too top-heavy. But was it the main reason why he got knocked out? I don't think so. Ariza's conditioning may have helped a wee bit, but Khan's defence, already-**** chin and Garcia's counterpunching were the main reasons, and they would have made Khan lose regardless.
