All this englander bull**** trying to bring down Burns through his ticket sales, all I can say is :rofl Hes world champ, get over it
Let me tell you mate ricky done the guts of a 700 tickets for the laraya fight, wrong arena to quick imo.No disrespect to Alex but he never sold 700 tickets in 4 fights or so
I was shocked at how poorly attended the Laryea fight was, even against the Norwegian dude there was a big crowd. Good luck with the promoting Arthur, I'm sure there's easier ways to make money!
as was stated, the arena for those two fights are a ***** to get to, public transport links are also poor, plus the Laryea would have been hammered after a heavy snow fall on the Friday and Saturday.
Burns needs to fight for a respected version of the world title then his attendances might pick up a little. Can't just keep defending against top 50 WBO 'contenders'.
I was at the fight against the Norwegian and I think it's what put me off going to the Laryea one. By the time I'd paid for trains to Glasgow, taxis to Braehead etc it cost about £100 for a pretty boring nights boxing. It's not like Laryea was that impressive against a very poor Paul Appleby so why would I want pay the same again to see him in a title fight where he was obviously going to be way out of his depth. Even if Burns had been fighting a good British level fighter, like Sykes or Foster, I probably would've been tempted enough to go.
If your shocked at Burns attendances, you should check out John Murrays fanbase, a group of about 20 guys in 'Heres Johnny' T shirts at York Hall bethnal green:rofl
