Gotta say, I fancy an upset! AAA will be so focussed on this fight he will go in like a machine! The Guz is taking Alex lightly, and wont have the same focus (hopefully).

I have an inkling that AAA will smash wee Joan to bits in 7. Why is Alex fighting a girl anyway?

Dont worry about it my good man, it was supposed to be in Glasgow, even arthur himself said Meadowbank wasnt fit enough to stahge fight of this magnitude.

Then lo & behold, the fights in Meadowbank! Im gutted, as I really wanted to go back to the Braehead one last time to see a big fight. at least Arthur is getting the fight in his own backyard though, & thats a major positive:deal

Guzman will lose, hes all mouth & trousers & most people from these shores have bought into the Guzman hype left right & centre. Guzman is so smug, look at these photos of him, he really fancies himself.

Shame Alex is going to wipe the smug smile from his overrated & oversized face.
Guzman thinks its going to be easy money? I cant wait to sing "cheerio cheerio cheerio at him when hes leaving the arena after Alex has done him with his honeypunch.
He who laughs last laughs longest... Goodnight Guzman.

just noticed a new arthur interview on the bbc website...

Alex Arthur says he will have to be at his very best to wrest the WBO super-featherweight belt from Joan Guzman in Edinburgh on 3 May.
Guzman, 31 and from the Dominican Republic, has a 100% record of 28 wins from 28 fights, 17 by way of knockout.

"He's a fantastic fighter, with blurringly fast hands, and it's going to be an amazing fight," said Arthur.

"This is for the undisputed world championship, and I know the fans will come in their droves to support me."

Edinburgh native Arthur, 29, believes the fight will prove he has arrived in the big time and that the local fans at Meadowbank Stadium will give him an edge over his opponent.

"I'm on the stage that I've strived to be on for so long, this is where I belong," said Arthur, a former British, European and Commonwealth champion, who has lost won fight in 26.

"Being at home is much better than being away, because you're eating your regular food and training in your own gym. It's much more of a comfort zone.

"I'm going to try and give them a fantastic night of boxing and do my utmost to secure a world title belt in our country."

lol..first he's the world champion after winning an interim belt. now fighting for the full WBO title is "fighting for the undisputed world championship"!

i want arthur to win, but he is up his own arse...

I think what he is meaning is that of course fighting for undisputed WBO version...you know being the ACTUAL WBO champ rather than merely Interim...thats what I think he means.

Though its a rather clever thing to put to dupe some lesser knowledgable sports fans into thinking this fight is more than it really is.

Though of course, a win over Guzman in itself IS huge.

Dont worry Smitty my good man, Arthur is going to plaster this overrated big-mouthed **** Guzman all over the walls of the Meadowbank arena also, saving the place from demolition in the process.
As as scots would say, that lassie joan is gonnae get pumped!

I dont normally do this, but this fight is getting to me so much that I feel I need to say this.
Every one of you ****ers who are betting on Guzman I look forward to laughing in all of your ignorant faces. Every last ****in one of you.

When Arthur beats Guzman this will be MY forum. & of course my small crew who have betted on an Arthur win, this will be our night. Every man who has picked Arthur to beat Guzman I hope will be here celebrating with me. & If you arent, dont worry. I can gloat enough for all of you put together:D
When Amazin Alex Arthur beats this dominican dickhead then the people will realise that Alex Arthur is indeed Amazing.

Bow down to Alex before its too late, thats my advice to the Arthur doubters. Otherwise you will have to endure me & my small band of merry scotsmen party the night away in here without you having an invite to join in. Its as simple as that people.

Now now chaps, calm it down. There is no need to get so personally involved!

I am with Dunky in thinking that Alex will whip Guzman; but I am not over-egging it to the extent that it blows up in my face!

    Any news on the undercard?
