Any idea on who he is fighting on the Burns undercard ?

I was told a while back that Derry Matthews was being lined up.

    Anyways

Matthews, really? Might give AA a call and see what the craic is.

Derry is on here ain't he maybe he'll confirm. I can't see DM wanting to comeback with a fight against AA.

Yeah well, i was a bit surprised when i was told but it makes sense maybe ? AA coming up, Derry coming back, decent enough undercard fight, surely better than Arthur - TBA.

Pretty sure ( trying to remember ) it was for this one and not the last Burns fight where he was injured.

Derry needs his confidence back after Choi and Lindsay got him. An AA fight whilst appealing would not make career sense to me if I was part of DM's team. Maybe further down the line yes. AA just needs to get fighting again! Agreed that he does need a competitive 8-rounder at lw and not a blowout.

Alex Arthur should fight John Murray soon IMO

When I interviewed AA a couple of months ago (just when he was on the mend from back injury) he told me that he wasn't interested in Brit, CW or Euro belts he wanted in the mix at world level straight away. Now that might've been the case because he was given a WBO lw ranking in the top ten which crept up to six I believe. But due to his inactivity that ranking is gone so he needs to something pretty sharpish after his 8-rounder next month.

So maybe a fight with Murray may happen. If AA gets back in the top ten sharpish and JMM vacates I wouldn't be too shocked if FW gets Katsidis over here for an eliminator with him. Pipe talk perhaps.

I can't see him hanging with the likes of Soto, Valero, Katsidis etc etc to be honest (even though Valero is completely overrated) :good

I'd like to be proven wrong though

I don't think Valero would fight him anyway. He's openly said he wants money fights. Soto looks to be heading that way. Katsidis might be a possibility though given his experiences over here.

Bottom line AA needs to get back and get back to winning and making some sort of statement in the division

Yeah totally agree, i wouldnt want him in with AA if i was involved regarding his two last fights. Did you call him anyways ? Any news on an opponent.

Anyways as i says, person who mentioned to me the DM Vs. AA is certainly credible enough.

Hope you can get some news on who it is next or if Dm was ever mentioned.

    Cheers UC :thumbsup

Hey Billy, what about Limond Vs. Arthur to decide ?

I agree with what you say regarding Limond earning his right at the weight as he been there longer. Just an idea though.

Would of been good if it could of been made for the Burns undercard.

I'm sure both would of been keen if there had been a bit more notice aye ?

i think AA has been to inactive over years weather it is injury or Warren playing games to set him up for for another fighter in his stable who is bigger ticket seller, wasn't AA trained by Roach. AA cant punch no more

Alex Arthur is by far one of the most overated boxers about at the moment. Just shy of Matthew Hatton
