Alex Arthur has recently signed a 3 fight deal with Hatton for 2 8 rounders then a title fight(presumably, british, commenwealth or European). His goal is to fight for a world title in 2011. Do you think this is a realistic goal or do you think he is pretty much done.

Personally i think he is past it and his recent injurys have took their toll and he hasnt got much more to give. I personally think he would struggle against the likes of Murray and will probably be done after this 3 fight deal.

At this moment he has a lot to prove. He offers more excuses then most fighters give. He says he having a great camp,Loses then blames weight making etc.

I can accept that being on undercard in a huge arena with hardly any fans is hard to motivate yourself for but end of the day the job is there to be done.

His career should of pushed on but it stalled badly and i think continuous change in trainers was a major factor in him not getting a consistency.

I don't see him reaching world level, Maybe European title shot.

He's done. He will never get to World Level again (and in all honesty shouldn't have in the first place considering he never even won a vacant belt in the ring, nor did he defend it).

Was a good Euro champ in his day but his day ceased to exist after that night Gomez hammered him :good

He's gonna end up being seriously embarrassed by someone. I can't see what title the Hattons would be able to get him a shot at either.

Fair enough but he still got an interim belt and defended it, more than gomez could do.

He could definately still win another belt at domestic and possibly European level, the fact is he's a solid contender and didn't look shot against Burns he was just outboxed on the night which often happens, that fighters can have "bad nights". It's a shame he was always never going to cut it at world class the good thing is Arthur hasn't been in too many wars apart from the fight with Gomez.

His last fight with Wright was close and proves that he can still mix it, whether he has the desire to up his game for his next few fights is another matter. What I can see happening is he wins a couple of easyish fights and then is fed to a prospect like Gavin for one last payday.

not much luck for old alex loses a close decision to cook, moves up to lightweight looks great and then gets a blood disorder meaning he cant lose weight anymore so ends up at light welter,,alex will win another title but scott harrison would still kick his arse

with the Hattons ability to pull European and Commonwealth title shots our of nowhere I would not be suprised to see him get a fight this year for a vacant belt if he is winning the 8 rounders.

Its still a very decent name and winnable fight for Murray and McAllister.
