The luck part is that Boystov regarded him as a joke and obviously didn't take him seriously. Either that or he cannot fight at all. I wasn't having a go at him but either he doesn't listen at all or Thornberry is a terrible trainer because he hasn't learnt a single thing about boxing in 10 years. All he has is courage and power. Power isn't going to mean a thing as he will not get near enough to land a punch.
If Wlad "regards him as a joke and doesn't take him seriously", Leapai will crumple him like Sanders and Brewster did. Credit where it's due, Leapai has done very well for a guy "who hasn't learnt a thing." He's about to earn $1M plus for one nights work.
Love that Leapai is getting his shot and wish him the best, but is interesting watching his first fight. Yes of course he's imporved since then, but IMO his movement was better back then, which is hard to understand. Hope he does himself and his fam proud cause what people seem to forget is this '1Million payday for a nights work' is actually a pay day for 10 years work. Congrats to him and his team. All any fighter ever wants is that chance to see how they hang with the big boys. Just can't see how if KJ could keep him away enough that it will be any different this time. I hope I'm wrong.
every fight is a different fight. if alex was able to train properly back when he fought kj, he wouldn't have been a sitting duck as much in the later rounds against him. and just cause he lost to him then, doesn't mean he'd lose to him if they fought again. alex had his moments, he just didn't pace himself well enough and gassed out. most would expect kj to beat alex more times than he'd lose if they fought several times though, yes.
Hope Leapai does become champion, just don't know where ur confidence comes from. Ur comments obviously make u one eyed in ur opinion, none of it factual. Mate keep making ur lattes and sweeping up in the food court, I earn my $$ in the ring, but in sure you could still 'mop' the floor with me..
I've said it before and il say it again, Alex will do well to make it into the latter rounds. He doesn't have the stamina or movement to trouble Wlad. Wlad will make it ugly if he has to but he's been there so many times. Hope Alex proves me wrong, noël Thornberry seems to find these heavy punchers, I remember Mase Masoe nearly taking my head of sparring, but it's there endurance that stops them going further.
Leapai is getting $1.3mil right? Take 20% for trainers, sparring partners, accommodation, travel tickets, solicitors involvement etc and other incidentals leaves him about $1mil The highest tax rate in this country is 47cents or thereabouts meaning he'll pay about $400k on 1 mill with a sliding scale. He will be lucky to clear $600k which is still a good pay day when you way it all up, but it's not a million dollar payday in his hand clear as some are suggesting.
don't know why the hell your so concerned about his finances for. amazes me when people also say how much a fighter should be getting for a fight, as if it affects them somehow, lol. and be careful cause stiffles searches the forums looking for spelling mistakes.
I'm not, but people are saying he is getting a million dollar pay day which technical is right, but the reality is it's wrong.
