Just watched it again. Cronje wins the 9th as i said

Both Briggs and Raymond say as much towards the end of rd, why did they both score Leapai???? amazing.

Totally agree Kel...pretty clear Cronjie round, there werent many clear rounds in that fight but I thought that was one of them. Then again I thought the 8th belonged to Leapai but Briggs scored it a draw. Its like he was just enjoying the fight to much and just scored those rounds on the fly.

So refreshing to see a heavyweight fight like that...they clinched like 3 times in the whole fight and they were nearly all in the last round.
Two willing and fit guys with at least a bit of skill, slugging it out the whole time.

It wasnt a high drama fight simply because both have very good chins and arent huge punchers. But it certainly was intense, enjoyed it and I havent said that about a heavyweight bout in a long time.

Only just got to watch it but like everyone has said, what a fight! If only they had two belts, both guys gave it everything.

I think the 2 judges that gave Leapai the victory by a wide margin should be sacked.

Leapai lost the bout in my opinion.Cronje was the busier fighter and landing more frequent blows.Leapai landing the more telling blows but they were far and few between. He generally didnt do much until he heard the 10second bell out the end of each round.

Great fight bout still abit pissed with the decision.

Also think Leapai corner were giving the bloke very bad advice.Continuely telling him not to go for the ko and keep jabbing, outboxing Cronje which just wasnt happening.

All in all Leapai got a gift decision.Cant really see him hanging with Big Sol...

Does anybody here think that bowie tupou would have been better off hanging around australia to improve on our domestic scene?
After watching last nights fight it would seem our local heavyweight scene is not too bad and it would definately beat anything bowie has done just yet with his career.
Maybe he is getting better money in U.S not sure

watched the fight on the saturday replay, it was very entertaining to say the least, leapai doesnt have a really big punch power, he has an accumalative effect even though it seems there one punch ko punches, i wouldnt have minded either fighter getting the nod, because the real winner was aus boxing, you couldnt of hoped for a better main event....
big props to both guys who will no doubt be very sore for the next few days...
