Excellent advice David for someone wanting to be a trainer, I don't have any wish to, never said I did. If you read the posts you will see Billy said I know nothing about boxing, which I rightly responded is wrong, as I do. If I was younger I would have tried the boxing side as used to dance and I am heavy handed (especially before I done my wrist in) but never thought of being a trainer. I have seen Billy at close quarters, and it backed up what I already thought he is a fantastic trainer, done wonders with Ricky, and I believe he will train another world champion. Problem Billy has is on this forum as he thinks everyone doesn't know anything about boxing if they have not worked directly in the game, that and fact he makes dodgy fight predictions on a regular basis. Can Billy read a fight, yes, do I think he is as good at that as he is doing pad work or motivating his fighters, or getting them fit and giving them belief then no as he is world class at all those things. Does he read a fight as good as Peter Harrison (king of reading fights), Joe Gallagher or Adam Booth I doubt it, is his fighters as fit or fitter than theirs properly, and I have heard Billy is best on pads in the business. So all top coaches have strengths and weaknesses and obviously Billy has a lot more strengths than weaknesses.

 

Ok mate it was just reading this part that made me think you had thought about it but you thought your lack of talent at either fitness or doing pads would hold you back. It wouldn't and you are never too old as long as you have a hunger to listen and learn!!

I also know what you mean about how Billy comes across sometimes but I think sometimes he just likes to wind people o keep himself amused whilst on here!! haha

I understand it from him sometimes because some of the posters really have snipes at him. But he doesn't take it to heart and just returns the fire!!

 

I agree to a large degree there are some posters who just abuse him, and he gives them it stinking, rightly so David, but then their are others who are constructive posters and not trolls who he slags off for having a different opinion and wonders how they have a go back lol
