Because, they made it sound like you were responding to the idea that he is 2 fights away from being 'Scotland's greatest ever fighter'. To which you said you said if he comes through these fights, 'there can be no doubt about that'.

I think it's bull mate .If Burns unifies and moves up and wins a belt at lightweight he's made boxing history as the first fighter ever to in Scotland.The odds were stacked against him against Martinez nothing wrong with ambition .

Surely the time to talk about your boxer is when he has won . I dont think billy was was miss quoted but I think he got carried away a we bit but he has always talked up his boxers he trains so fair play to him . with regards Alex Morrison I think he is trying to take the pressure of ricky burns by releasing the statement as a lot of people thinkthe afore mentioned fighters Scott Harrison Ken Buchannan AND Jim Watt are a good bit ahead of ricky at the moment but like billy said he still has a chance to join them and even bypass them . so good luck to Ricky Burns tonight

Martinez was a defining fight, he was the outstanding fighter in the division when Ricky beat him, Martinez was the no1. So he has had his defining win, all he needs to do now is unify or move up & win another world title IMO to be regarded as in the same league as Buchanan & Watt.

I dont see why everyone is getting so upset, cos IMO Rickys on his way to scottish boxing ATGness just now. He may or may not make it, just make sure he does Billy!

Ricky has already surpassed my all time favourite fighter Scottys ring achievements, so hes well on his way...
