Could he be as competitive with Norton as he was with Holyfield or even better, beat Norton?

Well both would be apprehensive, Norton because stewart was a puncher and stewart because he was scared everytime he stepped up. So it would really depend on who could force himself to push the action. My guess is norton pushes the action in which case stewart either gets stopped late or stewart knocks norton out if he can let his hands go

Norton has a better variety of punches to work with, and is certainly more skilled.

His bodywork sees him chewing up Stewart pretty bad, in my opinion anyway.

Are we talking about the Stewart who gave Holyfield trouble, or the Stewart who took a dive against Tyson on the comback trail (much like Bruce Seldon)?

    Interesting matchup.

Gut instinct says Norton loses because Stewart was a "big puncher" but Stewart wasnt some alpha great white shark who had guys quaking in their shoes and went for the kill. In other words, he hit hard but he wasnt the best "finisher" and he doesnt have a long list of guys ranked in the top 10 or belt holders whom he stopped.

Both guys were basically the exact same size, similar reach and height, although stewart occasionally grew to a somewhat hefty 230 lbsish. Regarding chin, foreman dropped stewart in the first 2 rounds, tyson in the first, along with moore and not so great lesser known guys like Peterson, so Stewart doesnt exavtly have an iron chin either. And Norton was no slouch in power, he could bang when he needed to.

I think its closer than peoppe think. Norton has:

    -a way better resume
    -better stamina
    -better body shots
-knows how to win rounds and nullify the jab
-better pressure fighter and inside fighter

    Stewart has:

    -a little bit more power
    -little bit heavier
-better defense and survival mode (foreman fight)

As long as Norton doesnt freeze up with the first big punch he takes, he might be able to win a clear convincing decision or get a mid round stoppage. But thats a big if...Norton would also cover up with a sloppy guard if he got nailed. He got away with it against slick boxer types who lacked major power (ali, young, holmes) but against the big hitters it cost him big time.

Either way, it goes all 12 id say norton wins 7/10 with a possible knockdown for either man (or both).

If its for 15 then Norton no question wins by wide UD.

Norton wins this one going away. Likely stops Stewart mid rounds.
