Recently revisited Alex Stewart’s two wars with Evander Holyfield and it got me wondering about how prime Stewart might’ve done had he fought in this era or even in the Klitschko era... He failed miserably against Tyson but he definitely gave ATG’s Holyfield and Foreman tough fights. What do you guys think?
Stewart gave Holyfield two tough fights but clearly lost both. Was landing a lot on foreman but still got dropped a couple times and lost. Rocked Moorer but got he got pretty beaten up. He would lose to most top 10s in today’s and the Klitschko era but on a good night he could give certain ranked guys a tough fight.
IMO, Stewart looked like he couldn’t handle the brightest lights. He would get beat by most of the top ten today.
You'd have to give him a good chance against men like Parker, Ruiz, Rivas, Whyte, Hunter ........... or old Ortiz. I'm not saying he'd beat them all, maybe he wouldn't beat any, but you'd have to rate his chances as very good.
