He would be better off with Sauerland. Universum is like Don King Promotions; their fighters only get one or two fights a year.

I don't know why Alexeev didn't get the WBO title fight against Enzo or Banks. Maybe Kohl thought his not ready for those guys? But waiting another year without facing a legit opponent won't help him either.

You are so damn right, i hope beeing with Kohl isnt a handicap for his career. Kohl already phucked up so many fighters, lets hope he is able to learn at least a little bit. Imagine this talent wasted on beeing a WBO champ for years with beating one chump after another. To say it in other words: "The Erdei route", just to name one example.
Im very sceptical on some hyped fighters like Gamboa or Lee, im not sold on them. But i have no doubt Alexeev will walk through Cruiserweight like a tank. Even at this early stage at his career i think he would beat Adamek. He has this special ring presence, where you know its just a matter of time he will get rid of his opponents. He has power, combination punching, good footword, very good handspeed, his punch selection is awesome, and he seems like a relaxed, calm guy who wont be troubled mentally when in a bigger fight. He is ready, he must get his title shot 2009, anythig else would be a farce.

Brilliant talent, I agree. Buyt why did he/his promoter let Enzo Macca v Banks go ahead?

Alexeev is the #2 contender, so why let the #1 and #3 fight?

(I suppose you can imagine purse bids i.e. if Warren wins, Alexeev gets pulled out injured, if Universum wins, Macca gets pulled out injured)

Must have a different title in sight, WBA perhaps (Guillermo Jones), WBC (Frago), or IBF/Ring mag (Adamek), the most meaningful right now.

I hope he goes for the top man. Otherwise it could be an obscure, anonymous title reign!

    Watched some youtubes.

Seems like a pretty solid fighter, with good technique and a good punch. Will be interesting to watch as he steps it up.

I don't know if I would overhype him yet, though. Anybody looks good beating up on journeymen that are a level or two below you and don't fight back much. He is defiently above his current competition level, so it will be interesting to see him step up a class and see how things go. But good prospect none-the-less.

I also think that he will fare better in the paid ranks if he signs a contract with Kohl's rival Sauerland. TV exposure, big fights against recognisable names-Sauerland can provide that all. Kohl can ruin a promising fighter's career.Thats for sure! He has a proven track record,so to speak.

Alekseev reminds me a bit of a young Jirov: great amateur pedigree, upright southpaw style, heavy handed with both hands, forward moving, good solid base under him, throws a lot of punches. Alexkseev might even be a shade quicker in terms of hand speed.

The one thing I want to see is how open to right hands he is when steps up against a live body. He seems to me a bit too upright on the attack at times, with his left side exposed. Admittedly, this is a minor criticism, and his development is going to be fun to follow.

He does seem a little qucker and more precise than Jirov. Jirov was just a little too plodding.

Would rather see AA with Sauerland as well. Kophl is groanworthy. You just expect the worst.

    Me,too!

Kohl has damaged some of his once promising boys' careers for good.

A classy fighter like Dzindziruk is still an unknown name even among box fans.
Erdei keeps figthing limited opposition, and Braehmer was forced to face journeymen for ages.

Alexeev would be better off with Sauerland.Thats for sure!

Defnintely agree. I hope this guy is not the next Erdei, with his talent you expect him to do big things, bigger things than most Kohl fighter do.
