i sorta agree.

i might be in the minority but i think if alexander could keep up with matthysses power he should be able to stand up to maidanas. hell probably get a sd or ud. he may get rocked at some point but ultimately hell win.

 

While Alexander had issues with Matthysse, Maidana, isn't Matthysse. He is less skilled, and far more crude. Alexander shouldn't have a problem boxing Maidana's face off. The only question will be if Alexander can avoid the wild homerun punch for 12 rounds, and if it lands, will he be able to take it. The new weight class should benefit Alexander in every way, being that his trainer stated he was having serious issues making 140 pounds.

 

So glad this fight was made. Maidana's going to knock him out, I think. They know they can't get a decision in St. Louis and will take that into account.

Maidana may not be as conventional as Matthysse, but I think he's heavier handed and more aggressive and unpredictable; it works in his favor. He also throws a higher volume. Alexander doesn't have an effective offense backing up, and his guard is poor. I could see him surviving and getting a hometown decision, but I don't see what his overrated hand-speed and predictable combinations are going to do for him besides provide justification for biased judges.

 

Maidana is flat footed and unathletic enough for Alexander to actually sit down on something. I don't agree that Maidana is any heavier handed than Matthysse. What evidence or in the ring happenings make you come to that conclusion. Furthermore, if Morales can buckle Maidana with Winning Gloves on, hell yeah Alexander can probably do more if he sits down on something.
