It also would've been worth checking out how KO artist Roman Andreev dealt with feather-fisted but double-tough Claudinei Lacerda.

 

Actually, I take it back. This isn't the main event. It's the co-feature; another Russkie vs. Pinoy match-up.

 

Eduard Troyanovsky vs. Joseph Von Minoza, 12 rounds @ lightweight

 

Round 1

Troyanovsky works the jab while circling both ways around Von Minoza. Troyanovsky is keeping it at mid-range, and keeping Von Minoza largely out of rhythm. Von Minoza gets close with a couple of powerful left hooks, glancing a couple off Troyanovsky's nose, but is mostly outworked by the bee-sting left jab of Troyanovsky.

Round 2

Troyanovsky is staying well clear of Von Minoza, carefully putting in his jab while tilting his head back against his right shoulder. Von Minoza rushes in, grabs Troyanovsky and bangs the body. Uppercuts by Von Minoza working his way in while crouching low and weaving with a high guard between punching. Von Minoza gets off a few nice body shots and then frightens Troyanovsky with a right to the face, almost causing him to tumble into a reverse somersault. Troyanovsky pecks at the guard of Von Minoza with his jab but no longer dares to extend it enough to snap it home. A high 1-2 by Troyanovsky is ducked and Von Minoza almost lifts him off his feet.

Round 3

Troyanovsky is pawing his jab and stepping wide around Von Minoza. Troyanovsky gets backed up by a can-opener right to the body. Von Minoza is throwing with maximum force, and nearly falling off balance on the way in. BIG looping right up top by Von Minoza, has Troyanovsky scrambling for cover. Jab to the body by Von Minoza. Troyanovsky attempts to line up his aim and drop a few long jabs and rights down on Von Minoza's head while backing up, but Von Minoza moves his head and gets inside to work a few uppercuts. Wild combination by Troyanovsky, hitting arm but managing to get him some space as Von Minoza backs off. Another wild looping shot by Von Minoza on the way in, falling short.

Round 4

Von Minoza carries a right hand across the ring and dumps it in Troyanovsky's lap. A few jabs to the head by Troyanovsky as Von Minoza ducks in behind his guard, then quickly tying up. Troyanovsky jets off to his left and jabs. Von Minoza steps through the jabs of Troyanovsky with his arms pinned to his face absorbing most of them, and then works the body with powerful underhanded hooks. Von Minoza misses a jab as Troyanovsky leans back and then snaps forward with a slingshot 1-2 counter. Light flurries by Troyanovsky. Uppercut and a straight right lead by Troyanovsky land flush. Von Minoza keeps ducking in but getting clapped across the back of the head or nailed with unseen uppercuts to the face as his vision remains fixed on the floor or Troyanovsky's body. A bit of grappling in the middle of the ring until Troyanovsky gives Von Minoza a shove back and then pops a 1-2 into his face. A pair of hard body shots curled in by Von Minoza, causing Troyanovsky to wince and back up.

Round 5

Troyanovsky is jabbing steadily as he steps around Von Minoza, but reeling the left arm in much less quickly now and letting it hang limply at his side between shots. Troyanovsky is trying to use footwork to dodge punches rather than keeping his hands up. Von Minoza is able to find his face with a few jabs lunging up off his feet. Every time he does, Troyanovsky counters with a flush 1-2. Nice jabs from mid-range by Troyanovsky. He tries to clap over with a right hand and Von Minoza ducks in past it to plug the body.

Round 6

Von Minoza is just diving in and eating leather as Troyanovsky suddenly explodes with power combos - overhands and uppercuts to the head as he defies Von Minoza a clear lane inside. Von Minoza keeps trying the same thing over and over, a straightforward dive inside which allows Troyanovsky to tee off on his skull. Wild hook by Troyanovsky gets ducked and carries him into a near pirouette, almost leaving him trapped in the corner for Von Minoza to catch him with a lunging right to the body but for a quick step out. Troyanovsky jabs from a high guard on the outside. Von Minoza throws a single powerful right hand over the top, partially connecting.
