Shafikov is hurtling into Onyango and putting together several straights to the face per combination before dropping a level and either hacking the body with more measured and powerful shots or grabbing him by the waist. Onyango is reduced to pawing his jab and backing up, waiting for Shafikov to jump in and work him over again.

Round 6

Big left hands to the face and right hooks to the body by Shafikov, springing up toward Onyango and then squatting quickly for leverage when his feet hit the ground. Onyango backs up to the ropes and pulls Shafikov head first into a hold. HARD right hook and straight left combos to the face by Shafikov. Onyango's corner should think about waving that towel... Shafikov lands combination after combination from the outside, keeping Onyango on the backfoot and curling away from his punches, virtually giving up his back.

Shafikov is actually giving up a few inches and Onyango (who's quite ripped as well as enjoying a height advantage) has a 100% wins-by-KO ratio...but this is an extreme mismatch in favor of the Russian.

 

Round 7

Shafikov is throwing a whammy of a left, over and over connecting from outside between Onyango's eyes. Shafikov falls in with the shots and slaps an adhesive right hook into Onyango's hip, holding him still so he can pop the left into his face up close.

Further domination by Shafikov, although Onyango is beginning to score with desperate uppercuts to the body as the press together. Shafikov is less mobile, just circling tight against Onyango and ripping away with head and body shots that have still not lost much of their speed. Onyango tries to twist his full weight into each body shot but can't spin fast enough to keep up with Shafikov, just grazing him.
