Also nice to see HBO doing a Countdown for this. Looks like Khan won't have to face the winner of Alexander-Bradley until at least late next year (that's assuming he beats Maidana).
Great news. I'm not a fan of rematch clauses but would much rather have it inserted and see the fight then not see it what so ever. Hopefully it's a good enough fight to warrant a rematch. I personally feel that Alexander is to inexperienced for Bradley but fair play to him for really pushing for the challenge at such an early stage of his career.
They need to fight in January and a rematch clause should stay in effect if the fight happens by a certain deadline i.e. no later than April (3 monnths) unless there is an injury then an interim fight can be taken etc
No wonder Bradley isn't keen on the rematch cause. He'll leather him in the 1st fight so why should Alexander get another 50/50 split in the rematch?
It seems strange pre-setting the purses for the rematch.... though if Bradley gets the job done convincingly enough I'm not certain that it would happen in any case. Shaw was a bit out of order demanding Bradley sign a promotional extension IMO. Not sure about $1.1m being ''short'' - for a lad with a low profile it's a very good offer. The big payday will come when he faces the winner of the GBP triangle, which IMO will be Khan.
