This is one of the best fights in boxing. Two prime fighters who happen to be the best in their division. I also think their styles can make for a very good fight. Bradley is fighting in June on HBO so he is going to be in position for a end of the year fight on HBO. I would think Alexander would get a fight in this summer as well. He could face the winner of Madaina-Cayo at the same time Bradley fights. The two fights could set this up for a big fight later this year.
True, without a marquee name like Hatton or Pacquaio to fight then they can only get so big. Thats why I hope they fight within the next fight or two before upsets, injuries, etc derail the fight. But I think the more they appear on HBO then the bigger the fight can get. This is Bradley's first fight on HBO and Alexander's second(I think). HBO has a much bigger subscriber base than Showtime. So if each take a fight or possibly two in the meantime, on HBO, the fight should get bigger.
I would like to see Alexander get a hometown fight against someone like Zab first then this fight can be made early next year.
This is the fight to make at 140 and a true 50/50 fight. It has the makings of a skillful war, lets hope king and fat **** Shaw dont ruin it.
That may be true, but I still need to see a lot more ring generalship before I can give Alexander the lead way over Bradley...Its may be that he has trouble with southpaws or whatever the case maybe...I think Bradley has improved since then (the 55 punches a round against southpaws...just my opinion on it of course)...A whole lot!:good Alexander is a world class fighter now, but given how he looked in his last coulple of fights...I think he's not ready for Bradley...Bradley has to many tools to offset Alexander's weapons!
Bradley isn't on HBO at the moment and both getting that airtime on the network would help them and end up making this a bigger fight in the future. Alexander has the opportunity to fight Zab and help his profile a little bit if he wins. If they do fight now, who will there be to fight in a couple of years? Khan doesn't seem to be in a rush to fight them. There are not that many big names in the division outside of those two for the foreseeable future.
I don't think Alexander should face Zab because Zab hasn't re-proven himself at 140 yet he doesn't deserve to face Devon. I would like to see Bradley-Alexander this summer. I got milk baby!!!
If the winner does become a big name, then others will start knocking once it's apparent that it's the best money fight available.
Why not? Zab is a decent name that would sell well in Alexander's hometown of St. Louis. It would be a great fight as well.
You're probably right I wasn't sure when a possible Alexander-Zab fight would take place. I figured it would happen late this summer maybe even fall.
I too want to see it but what has Zab done at 140 recently with any significance? (with my best Samuel Jackson impersonation)I WANT ALEXANDER/BRADLEY AND I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!lol
From a pure business perspective, fighting and beating Zab would help because he has a recognizable name. So, even if Judah's ends up not being what he used to be, Alexander would still benefit from the name recognition. Casual fans won't pay attention to the fact that there's a chance Judah might be done and hasn't fought 140 in years. At the end of the day, that's who they're selling the fights to.
