Round 1

Double jab by Brand. Acosta circles left and gets his guard up whenever Brand pecks up with the jab. Right hand gets through for Brand. Acosta bounces around and stretches his own left jab, stepping out of rhythm and off balance when he does. Brand knocks him into the ropes with a right hand. Wild lunge by Acosta and Brand leans back into the ropes to slip. Brand comes forward, bobbing and leaning side to side. Big wide hook by Brand misses from outside.

10-9 Brand

 

Round 2

Brand leans back and lets Acosta miss, then zips in with rights to the body. Hard combo to the body by Brand, driving Acosta to the ropes. Brand is keeping his arms held low and then throwing punches suddenly to catch Acosta unawares. Wild shots by Acosta, missing. Brand is jabbing between the forearms and dragging in big uppercuts. Right hand lead out of a crouch by Brand, getting brushed by an Acosta jab. Double jab, right hand, several more slapping shots to the sides of the head by Brand pushing Acosta to the ropes. Brand marches Acosta almost into a corner and Acosta loses his footing and does a split!!! Somehow doesn't fall or brush a glove on the canvas. The crowd cheers Brand's ring generalship anyway. He literally almost put his opponent to the mat without throwing a punch, just walking forward imposingly.

20-18 Brand

 

Round 3

Brand is darting in, whipping Acosta with hooks up top and uppercuts to the body. Acosta's balance has become even poorer. They pause to have a janitor stick a mop in the ring under the bottom rope to soak up excess moisture that's causing it to get slippery. Brand comes forward jabbing from the hip and Acosta tries to counter with a left hook backing up. Brand slips on the wet canvas and goes down to a knee while coming forward. Acosta misses a jab and then drops back out of the range of a 1-2, the right hand just grazing his face. Combo to the guard by Brand. Jab through the gloves. Acosta misses a jab, and Brand leaps in with a short hook, too short. Acosta backs Brand up with some feigned jabs but a quick combo awaits him as he tries to trap Brand on the ropes.
