Alexander Emelianenko making boxing debut?

yes it is a well known fact, we've been discussing this for a long time on our russian forum

 

Good. However, he is no Fedor.

But still interesting.

 

Last I heard he couldn't get licensed because of his ties with the russian mafia.

 

he has no ties with russian mafia... He has also covered his old "mafia tattoos" with new ones.

He will actually fight tomorrow 3 October.

 

Is he boxing Oct 3 again?

Well boxing is very different if you compare it to MMA or K-1. Remember Mighty Mo and Rey Sefo and their "boxing careers".

I mean they were both good strikers.

From what I know Alexander worked a lot on his punching technique, but I am afraid he will be stopped by the first journeyman who will be there to fight and to win. Of course I wish him success though, he is still young and his chances might be a bit higher than of those mentioned above.

Negative. His ties to Russian organised crime are well known. But he couldnt get licensed because he apparently had Hepatitis. Matters not as his boxing skills in MMA were poor. He's a big heavy with heavy hands but he's boxing skills were nothing to write home about. The same is true of Fedor.
