Fidel “OG” Hernandez is getting his ass handed to him by Juan Jose Barajas in front of his home crowd in what was announced as his final fight.
I’ve grown quite fond of Hernandez due to those free Iron Boy YouTube streams out of Phoenix that we get, so this is becoming hard to watch

 

Hernandez’ corner is about to be in the incredibly unenviable position of having to contemplate pulling their fighter out in his last fight. There’s no need for this to continue beyond round 4 if nothing changes

 

Honestly after those three rounds, I don’t think anyone would judge Hernandez negatively if his corner pulled him out. He’s getting soundly beaten and it’s clear even his best effort is probably not going to be enough

 

Smitty on the broadcast agrees with me that his corner should seriously consider pulling Hernandez out of the fight. Round 4 was slightly better but that was mainly because Barajas activity dipped a bit and not because of anything Hernandez really did

 

Barajas has lost some zip on his punches but he’s still landing at will with whatever he wants.

Barajas got hit low which caused him to get a bit wreckless and charge forward, resulting in Hernandez having a few moments of success and the crowd chanting “OG, OG, OG.” Still not enough for him to win the round though

 

Oh damn I didn’t even make the connection lol I remember being impressed with him watching that fight. I won’t forget him after this performance though (not because of how impressive this was, the Bellows one was far better, but because of me being a fan of Hernandez)

 

Yes he is, and I haven’t seen him this thoroughly beaten in the 5 or 6 fights I’ve seen of his. Dude is normally always in the fight even if he doesn’t win

 

I don’t think Barajas should be judged too harshly for not getting the TKO. Hernandez is tough as hell and it would’ve been pretty shocking to see him KO’d considering the circumstances.
