I like it... The UFC forces enough WMMA as it is! Outside of a handful of gals, it's all pretty much ****.

Reza Madadi vs. Joaquim Silva - 3 rounds at Lightweight

 

Madani gets a takedown and spends most of the round on top, avoiding the occasional submission attempt from Silva - 10-9 Madani

 

Silva comes out with a vengeance and immediately walks Madani down and land overhand rights, Madani gets another takedown but Silva is up almost immediately... Silvas walking Madani down into the fence and throwing everything but the kitchen sink at him, Madanis getting hit a lot but avoiding the more hurtful shots. Madani tags Silva with the occasional hard shot but for the most part he's turtled up trying to weather Silvas assault. big round for Silva. 10-9 Silva

 

1 1/2 minutes through and the 3rd is already starting to mirror the 1st. Silva's letting this one slip away... This is his fight to lose.

 

After nearly mirroring the 1st rd... with about 2 minutes to go Silva gets back to his face and drops an off balance Madani and goes in for the kill... Madani turtles up and Silva looks to pour ground and pound from the back mount, Silva tries to sink in a rear naked choke but it's not there. Madani manages to scramble to top position but Silva is able to scoot to the fence and avoid another takedown attempt from Madani, a botched takedown attempt from Madani results in Silva taking top position... Riding the last 45 seconds or so out with ground and pound and taking a clear 29-28 decision.
