Why do they keep saying that on HBO. He is 23 and has only fought 21 times. He is only going to get better and is no where near near his prime. Prime means you can only get worse.

I don't know if, mentally, Alexander will ever be in his prime. Perhaps. These things come with experience, but some fighters will always be mental midgets. Likewise, there was no ring generalship from him to speak of.

I agree, Alexander still has better days in his future since he's still young and hasn't had a huge number of fights.

He's got more mileage on him than his age and number of pro fights would indicate since he's had 300+ amateur fights and gets hit more often than people think.

    True. Good post.

I would probably say that yes, he is prime right now. There is a very good chance the Urango unification will be the highlight or perhaps second best moment of his career.

Alexander will only improve with a great trainer. Cunningham simply isn't going to get Alexander to correct all of his technical flaws/shortcomings (and there are a lot of them). Unless he leaves, he's not going to get much better...if at all imho.

HBO wanted Alexander to win, but it was obvious that Bradley was superior. The punch stats can't be trusted either. Bradley won big, Alexander quit. Kotelnik was cheated by the judges when he beat Alexander, Bradley was not
European so he was not cheated, still, HBO wanted Alexander to win.
