The reason I put delete, is because I quoted the wrong guy. I had no problem with what you said. Relax.
It's possible to get leverage while moving backwards, but you're right in that it's something Alexander doesn't do and doesn't seem to have in his repertoire.
I'm not talking about getting leverage, I'm talking about overall punching effectiveness. This is boxing 101...I learned this **** decades ago. You don't have much pop on your punches when you're moving backwards and punching. Devon does that shoe shine bull**** and will throw like 3 jabs in a row while moving backwards and it is just ineffective. Maidana will bumrush him when he does that. Maidana will give him NO space. Devon's style is all flash and NO substance. A terrible style to have when you're a pro, and it's shown in recent fights.
I remember Alexander made an announcement that he's moving to 147 division. im not sure if it was after his defeat to timmy or after his last fight. I guess Maidan is a WW fighter now.
147 is where its at for the winner of this fight, more opportunities/bigger paydays, I thought it was a great decision. Not happy about the 10 rounder though.
rubbish decision for maidana look at him hes got a ****ing gut he should ko devon and get his ass back down to 140 where he belongs, devon seems to fit will into the weight however, oh and the 10 round **** is aboslute bs...
Plenty of fighters can hit hard while going backwards. Alexander just doesn't do it right and is thus terribly ineffective on the retreat.
