The Russian heavy , as he was , 6'2" 75" reach ,around 227lbs, 36-3-1 , is transported back to the 1950's to tangle with the likes of; Baker Henry Satterfield Layne Valdes Moore Lastarza etc And the heavy champs of that decade. How successful would he be?
I think he would do quite well in the 50 s tbh. He was a tough guy and skilled. He could put together some good combination s and his chin seemed robust enough. He'd be one of those that would remain around the top 10 - 20, for a good few years. Solid.
If he's allowed to bring his chemists back, he'd be something that people in that era really didn't hadn't had to deal with before.
Yeah, does he take the PEDs back with him or does he take them in our time and then teleport after they’re in the system? And how does that work with time travel? Would the chemicals that hadn’t been invented yet just dissolve/atomize on their way back in time since they didn’t exist then?
Probably not, since Povetkin didn't exist either, but he presumably wouldn't atomize. Though I wonder: does he just appear in the boxing gym naked after a lightning storm, like the Terminator?
I think Povetkin would do well in any era. As for the 50's I suspect that those that he couldn't outskill, he'd be too big and powerful for. Only the very creme de la creme would have a chance.
I think he had the discipline, skills and toughness to do very well. Without the use of PED’s however he wouldn’t have as much of an advantage in physical strength and power. He’d be built similarly to a lot of the men of that era, evening out the playing field a bit. But yes, with his other attributes he’d still be competitive. I won’t make any claims about him dominating or being dominated however.
