Alexander Povetkin is the best heavyweight on the planet

The best fighter Fury has beaten so far is Dereck Chisora. His resume is more questionable than Wilder's, and he has just as much to prove if not more.

Klitschko is the best until proven otherwise. Povetkin has to prove he is second best before he deserves another shot at him. He needs to beat someone like Wilder, Fury, or Joshua, the likes of whom he hasn't seen. Wach, Takam, Perez, and Charr are decent, but they don't qualify.

Let's not get too carried away T. He was in against a goof with little skills and was supposed to win. That said if he can get past Wilder ill agree he's the number 2 HW behind wlad. but that's a hard task to complete in itself.

He wasn't that faded. He looked his normal self in Klitschko II but fell victim to a perfect game plan from Emanuel Steward. He then returned from a one-year layoff and looked just fine beating up Paul Marinaccio on ESPN2 WNF.

Povetkin vs. Byrd was competitive in the first half. Byrd had plenty left. Plus, Sasha was taking it easy on him as he grew up a fan of Byrd's.

Now, when he drained to light heavy and got kayoed by Shaun George - that was a badly faded Byrd.

I think Byrd was more faded then you think. He had rough tough fights with bigger men like Golota and Mccline, they were way bigger and i believe those fights took something out of him. That said he was very athletic and that helped him against those giants.

When it came time for the rematch with Wlad he was getting broken down and ultimately destroyed. When byrd finally fought Sasha he was a shadow of his former self and had no chance to win. Had that been the Byrd from 2-3 prior, i think Byrd might have pulled it off.Just my opinion. Agree to disagree.
