1. So far Povetkin tested positive for trace amounts of meldonium a legal substance until January. His meldonium levels were so low they were within the allowable limit. Now he has tested positive for Orastine a drug that is banned but is readily available for purchase at your local health store. We should wait until after the due process takes its course before we rush to judgement.
2. I'm not trying to be flippant maybe cynical but I believe performance enhancers are rampant in the sport and the fighters are a step ahead of the testers (they always are) I believe the vast majority of elite boxers are some articificial enhancer or another. Quite simply these drugs, many legal to purchase, are just to available and there is too much incentive not to take them.
3. I won't take away from Povetkin's skill because of a test. Do we take away Roy Jones skill because he used ped's or Throw away Holyfield's career. We can objectively judge a fighters ability while keeping there boosters and the morality of taking them mutually exclusive.

 

You can say ostarine is legal and OTC but there are reasons why it is banned since 2008 by WADA.

I'm not a Povetkin fan I do respect his talent. I said on another thread I'm not defending him. He's a dummy for taking this stuff especially after the meldonium fiasco cost him his chance at a title.

I get tired of everyone on here trying to label this guy or that guy a cheat based on who they like and don't like. In all honesty most fighters are on something- like this ostarine available over the counter. Mayweather was on something, Pacquaio for a time was on something, Joshua, Povetkin it's not about color or nationality it's about opportunity drugs are rampant in the sport. Because Povetkin was an idiot and seemingly was caught I feel he should be suspended and serve his time but I'm not so quick to label and judge because then I have to do it for everyone and say James Toney was a dirty cheat. Roy Jones was a dirty cheat. Tommy Morrison was a dirty cheat. Etc etc the list will be quite long if I do that and then it's like why even watch the fights anymore. More guys are on stuff today than in the 90s actually which means in the 90s the playing field was even more unbalanced then it is today.
There is no easy solution. Boxing is and always will be a dirty sport one way or another.

Well I hope you feel the same way about Holyfield, and Roy Jones and lot of other fighters who took ped's. I wish the sport could get cleaned up but I wouldn't hold my breath. And yes if someone were to pass away it would be tragic and the sport would be crucified. And for your comment about a fighter I like losing to a ped cheater i watched many times where my fighter lost to someone that was on steroids.
