Aren't we getting Usyk v Takam & Povetkin v Hunter?

Terrific double-header if so.

 

They will fight other opponents, most probably. But a fight between them is still possible, as well. All that is needed is to pay them enough (a lot of) money. Maybe DAZN will decide to do that for some reason.

 

I hope that puny Usyk, fights someone at least demi decent in his first fight. Got a feeling it will be a string of lower contenders. And then he'll return to cruiserweight, once he feels the power of these huge behemoth heavyweights.

Besides, he’s naturally bigger than your idol Wilder and will probably be heavier than him when he moves up.

 

Yeah, I think originally it was supposed to be Usyk v Povetkin with Takam v Hunter as the main support.

Povetkin's unwillingness to face Usyk appears to have prompted a change.

Hunter looks like he may have drawn the short straw but if he puts it together & Povetkin isn't on the gear, he could pull the upset.

Usyk beats Takam although I would expect Takam to give a good account of himself.

 

For the very reason it annoys you Furious. Usyk can't waste too much time, when he puts his feet in the water at heavyweight. I want to see him fight a real top contender. So we don't have to waste too much time with the hype. It was bad enough with David Haye , a few years ago.

 

Doesn't 'annoy' me, why would I be annoyed by some anonymous poster called 'chico g' on a forum? I just think it's a bit strange that you make the same repetitive points over and over in various threads.

I don't think Usyk will waste much time at all, he's shown nothing in his career to date that indicates he's that type of fighter so it's another strange comment. I think he's one of the few active fighters who genuinely cares about legacy. He might have one fight against a fringe guy then I think he'll jump in with the top 5. He wants a shot at Joshua before too long - he's made that very clear.

 

I'll post what I want. The point hasn't been made clear enough, and it needs to be said a thousand times. This Usyk accomplishments, won't transition to heavyweight. Because these huge behemoths will be too much for him. Especially the devastating bronze bomber who will probably render him unconscious. Usyk more likely loses the eliminator, if it's against a Whyte or Povetkin.

Why would Usyk lose to Povetkin when Huck fought him for his first fight at heavyweight without any problem ? Usyk is levels above Huck.
