Exciting fighter, a master at setting traps and great to watch in general. Very humble fighter with respect for every opponent. It's unfortunate he never became a real heavyweight champion.

    Enjoy your retirement Ruski Vityaz!

Good. Hope he enjoys his retirement. After Covid he had nothing left to give or prove.

Excellent fighter who was always value for money. One of the best contenders in heavyweight history and someone who we won't soon forget.

    Happy retirement, champ!

Alex Povetkin announced today that he decided to retire since he feels old and doesn't have it in him anymore.
It's a good decision, he should have done it after the first Whyte fight.

Just as well. Great fighter, I loved watching him, but there were a lot of miles on the odometer. After a certain point you are just getting paid to take brain damage.

He could face some solid boxer in Moscow for the last fight.

he could win against guys like Kownacki, Martin, Helenius, Trevor bryan.

I dont really like HW, but i cared about Sasha's fights, because he had fast hands and was a combination puncher, you dont see it often in HW.

Good to see. He's still got his faculties intact, loads of money and a tasty wife.

He's made a great contribution to HW boxing over many years. An exciting and skillful boxer.

Shame we didn't get to see him starch Windmill.

Good luck for the future Sasha.

Should’ve retired after knocking Whyte out.

    Good.
& yeah would have been a hell of a high note if he retired after KOing whyte.

just like Márquez should have retired after KOing Pac instead of Fighting Bradley,

They never do it though, the old dawgs die hard.

A great champion despite never being officially. His style, nagging in appearance but in reality extremely technical and filled with traps, often gave rise to good fights.

I'm glad I got to see him boxing in London in 2018.

He will enter the hall of beltless heavyweight fame imo.

He was one of the big name heavyweight juicers too, which is a much bigger list unfortunately.
